JUST IN: Nigerian Former Military General Is Dead

The news reaching the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS has it that the former Military Administrator of Oyo and Ekiti States, Retired General Tunji Olurin, is dead.

According to the report, Olurin died at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the early hours of Saturday.

According to the deceased’s brother, Funso Olurin, the retired general died after a brief illness at aged 76.

Olurin, who retired from service in 1993 was the military administrator of Ekiti between from October 8, 2006, and April 27, 2007.

Olurin was a political ally of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He hailed from Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial district of Ogun state. He was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the 2011 general election in Ogun.


….The deceased was a Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War.
