A mobile police officer tasked with fighting kidnappings in Adamawa State has been kidnapped.

Gunmen kidnapped the mobile police officer attached to Operation Farauta, a special task force working to combat kidnappings in Adamawa state.

Sources said yesterday that the policeman, who resides in Mubi in northern Adamawa, was deployed to the Mayo-Belwa local government area as part of the special unit tasked with combating alleged kidnappings. became endemic around Mayo-Belwa.

The kidnapping of MOPOL, sources say, could be the result of mistaken identity, as it is clearly the wrong target.

A source said the armed men who entered Mayo-Belwa around 7:00 p.m. Sunday in a convoy of motorcycles were after a rich man called Idi Bage.


The man the gunmen were looking for owned a mansion next to the Mayo-Belwa-Jalingo highway.
