JUST IN: Former Attorney-General, Adoke arrested in Dubai
Operatives of Interpol have reportedly arrested and detained former Nigerian Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Mohammed Bello Adoke in Dubai.
According to Premium times, Adoke was arrested shortly after arriving in Dubai on November 11. The news report said the former attoney-general had travelled to the country for medical evaluation after a court warrant for his arrest was vacated in October.
It would be recalled that the the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) is after Adoke over his involvement in the controversial Malabu Oil deal.
Though Adoke had denied any involvement in the alleged fraud, he has been on self-exile since vacating office in May 2015. Adoke had also repeatedly cited a court judgment that said he could not be prosecuted for actions he took while in office based on presidential directives.
