JUST IN: Buhari Makes Fresh Appointment

Information reaching the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS has it that, Engr. Aliyu Tukur Tahir has been appointed as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the report, the appointment is for four years, as confirmed by the agency’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ama Umorem.

…….According to public service rules, he could be reappointed for another four years.

…Tahir has worked in the power industry for 29 years. In 1993, he joined the Federal Ministry of Power and rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Director of the Electrical Inspectorate Services Department, before being transferred to NEMSA as the General Manager of TS/IS.

He is a Yobe- born graduate of Electrical Engineering from the Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University served as the secretary, presidential task force on power in 2011 while in service with the Ministry of Power.


Aliyu Tukur Tahir is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
