Jagunlabi seeks constitutional role for Nigerian Monarchs

A United Kingdom Trained Lawyer, Barrister Yunus Jagunlabi has advocated constitutional role for traditional institution in the country to tackle insecurity at the grassroots

Barrister Jagunlabi who is an House of Representatives Aspirant, Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency under platform of All Progressives Congress dropped this hint while featuring on Viewpoint, a Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Radio Kwara Chapel Programme

He described traditional rulers as fundamental to Nation building, hence the need to be accorded legal framework to enable them effectively perform their roles in their domains

The Politician expressed displeasure over non recognition of traditional rulers in governance as such has negatively hindered their service delivery to their subjects

Barrister Jagunlabi therefore charged the tradition institution to avoid partisan politics and always live up to expectation of the exalted position God has placed them to guard against unforseen circumstances

On his Political Ambition, Barrister Jagunlabi said he is jostling for House of Representatives to serve to the people of his Constituency

The Guest Speaker assured the people of Irepodun-Isin-Ekiti and Oke-Ero Constituency of quality representation through Human Capital Development and facilitation of capital projects to the Constituency

In his remark, General Manager Radio Kwara Ilorin, Alhaji Kayode Aremu represented by the Corporation Secretary, Mr Tajudeen Onikoko lauded NUJ Radio Kwara Chapel for its consistency in its chapel activities and wished Barrister Jagunlabi a successful outing in his political ambition

Declaring the Programme Open, NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Abdul-lateef Ahmed said the voting population of the state is becoming wise and sophisticated as Twenty Twenty-Three would be a consolidation of Twenty-Nineteen elections

Comrade Ahmed charged the electorate always consider personality to determine who is suitable for political positions during electioneering and emphasized the need always hold leaders accountable to enable them alive to their responsibilities


In his remark, NUJ Chairman, Radio Kwara Chapel, Comrade Abdul-Hameed Alaiye described Barrister Jagunlabi as the first politician to feature on Viewpoint to present his scorecard on his political journey as Twenty Twenty-Three elections draw nearer
