ISWAP ‘Kiriku’ dies of snake bite

,,,,,A field commander of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) reportedly died three days after being bitten by a snake in Borno state.

,,,,According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert, the commander simply identified as Kiriku was injured in an ISWAP hideout in Damboa LGA of Borno.

Kiriku, who was reportedly injured on Tuesday, died on Friday.

According to Zagazola Makama, the ISWAP commander died because he was…..unable to receive medical treatment.

….Kiriku conducted operations in the Jiddari area of Chiralia, which is located in the Timbuktu triangle, which is a stronghold for both Boko Haram and SWAP.

The Timbuktu triangle stretches across four Borno LGAs – Damboa, Jere, Kaga, and Konduga – as well as Gujba LGA in Yobe state.


,,,,Kiriku was known for leading numerous attacks and ambushes against Operation Hadin Kai troops in Borno.
