No less than five officials of the Borno State government supervisors have been kidnapped by the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The victims, who were overseeing the construction of the Chibok-Damboa road, were forcibly removed on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
The incident took place near Wovi, a remote village in the Chibok local government area.
According to a source, however, one of the abducted staff, a driver, escaped unscathed.
A senior state official confirmed the incident. He said: “Yes it is so sad and we are worried about these latest developments.
The kidnappings shocked us. I can confirm to you that they were abducted this morning.
