INEC Announces Completion Of Anambra Guber Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Anambra governorship election invalid.
The announcement was made early Monday morning, around 12:20 am by the state election administration official, Florence Obi, vice-chancellor of the University of Calabar, who said it happened because it was not held. and elections in Ihiala Local Government Area. over 148,000 people registered.

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate Charles Soludo received 103,946 votes and won in 18 of the state’s 21 local government areas.
Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party won 51,322 votes and won in just one constituency.

“Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and the consideration of the election law and the rules and regulations issued by the commission, the Ihiala local government elections have been postponed,” the state election official said. Mrs. Obi.

She said the constitution stipulates that a candidate gets the most votes with 25 per cent of the votes cast in at least two-thirds of the state’s local government areas to declare the winner.


“Therefore, it is important to complete the election in Ihiala to make this decision,” she said.
