INEC Announces Budget For Osun, Ekiti State Guber Elections
The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, said the commission has set aside N7 billion for the 2022 Ekiti and Osun state governorship elections.
The chairman made the remarks on Friday, November 5, 2021 while defending the 2022 INEC budget of 140 billion naira before the Senate and House of Representatives committees on INEC and electoral matters. He said, “We have also set aside N7 billion for the Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections as well as the possibility of expelling a candidate.
So we have set aside N2.6 billion for Ekiti State with a population of over one million and N4.4bn for Osun with 30 local government areas, ”Yakubu told lawmakers.
