Human corpse with tied hands found floating on the Ilorin River

A human corpse was found in the Asa River along Emir’s Road in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, on Monday, November 15, 2021.

State fire Brigade spokesman Hakeem Hassan Adekunle in a statement in Ilorin said the body was discovered with hands tied behind its back and its head covered in tattered wrappers .

However, he also said the body was evacuated by members of the brigade. Hakeem revealed that attention was drawn to the brigade by a certain Olamilekan after residents of the neighborhood found the dead human body floating in the river.

No concrete evidence has yet been found on the cause of the incident.

The statement added that the unidentified body was turned over to Superintendent Ajape, SP, of the State Police Command, who led a team of officers investigating the case.


Also speaking, State Fire Director Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa expressed sadness at the developments and advised members of the public to be vigilant to avoid future events
