Oluranti Badejo, the wife of 40-year-old Folasade Badejo, is accused of killing her at their home in Orimerunmu, Mowe, in Ogun State’s Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

According to source, fashion designer Folasade and her husband had a fight on Wednesday over paying the school tuition for their three children.

The 51-year-old Oluranti reportedly hit Folasade’s head against the apartment wall during the altercation, which turned physical.

She was alleged to have dropped.

Jumoke, their eight-year-old daughter, allegedly said that her father left her mother, who was writhing in agony, on the floor.

The victim reportedly passed away.

After then, the suspect is accused of using a hot iron to burn her corpse.

Lekan Yusuf, Folasade’s younger brother, told our correspondent on Thursday that one of the couple’s neighbors had called him about the event.

According to him, when he arrived to their home on Wednesday morning, he discovered that his sister had been burned with an electric iron and that blood was still dripping from her ears and nose.

“The two of them often argued as any other couple would, and for the three months I lived with them, he beat her every single day, especially when it came to money.

Oluranti beat my sister whenever he got home from work on a number of times, even when she was asleep, even when I was living with them in Ajegunle.

Ayoade Busola, the victim’s older sister, claimed that a call from a relative in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, informed her about the occurrence.

My husband and I immediately hopped on a bike and rode over to their house, where we discovered my sister’s lifeless body lying on the ground next to the freezer, with various sections of her body burned with a pressing iron.

“When I questioned Oluranti about what happened, he explained that she had complained to him about their apartment’s defective power connection on Tuesday night after he got home from work.

He said that after eating and going to bed, his daughter woke him up so that he could see his mother, who was found dead next to the freezer after being electrocuted.

“When I looked at my sister’s hands, I saw that they had not been burned, but other areas of her body had been burned, bruised, and blood was still dripping from her ears and nose.

We then reported the incident to the Mowe Police Station, where the authorities detained the suspect after seeing the body.

Saheed Yusuf, the deceased’s father, pleaded for Folasade to receive justice.

Saheed said that Jumoke, the couple’s daughter, informed police that her mother had sought school expenses from her father and that when they got into an argument, he had smacked her head against the wall.

He stated, “Jumoke informed us and the police that when she went to urge her father to take her mother to a hospital or contact one Aunty Nurse who lived in the neighborhood to treat her mother, he warned her that members of the OPC patrolling the area would beat them if they walked outside at that time of day.

PUNCH Oluranti was detained and transported to the Mowe Police Station, according to information obtained by Metro.

He was rumored to have been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide Section.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence in a statement on Thursday.

According to Oyeyemi, the event was reported to the Mowe divisional police headquarters by the deceased’s younger sister.

“The victim’s lifeless corpse was transferred to a morgue in Sagamu for post-mortem examination,” he stated.

The suspect strangled the dead following a fight that ensued from a small disagreement, according to the preliminary inquiry.

“After realizing he had killed his wife, the suspect burned some of the body to make it appear as though she had been electrocuted. But sadly for him, their eight-year-old daughter was present and saw the entire incident.
