How Buhari, Aregbesola’s Caucus Facilitated My Election Victory – Ademola Adeleke

,,,,,,,Osun state Governor- elect, former Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said he would not have won the gubernatorial election held in the Land of Virtue on Saturday if President Muhammadu Buhari had not signed the amended Electoral Act 2022 into law.

Adeleke, who said this while appearing as a guest on Seun Okinbaloye’s ‘Politics Today’ programme on Channels Television on Monday, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for sending a message of congratulations to him.

‘It is a feel -good victory because the people of Osun state have been yearning for their stolen mandate. To be the second Adeleke that would govern Osun is not easy. It is only God that can do that. God has smiled on me and our family. Also, when I saw President Buhari’s congratulatory message, I said this is good for our country.

I am planning to visit him after receiving my Certificate of Return. Most of the time, the opposing parties don’t congratulate one another. So, Buhari is trying to leave a legacy. If he had not signed the Electoral Act, there would have been room for rigging because they did that to me in 2018 but with the Electoral Act now the result was just flowing in without let or hindrance’ he said.

,,,,,,Asked if Governor Gboyega Oyetola had reached out to him, he said: ‘I am still waiting to hear from him… a lot of people offended me but I am not God, my hands are wide open to receive everybody to move Osun State forward.

I campaigned so hard that the economy is so bad, the roads are bad, the state capital needs to be given a facelift, and that I can do better’ he said.

‘I was even expecting more than what I got. I studied Osun people and I know what they want. From the time I have been contesting since 2017 it had been a landslide victory’ Adeleke submitted when asked if he knew that he was going to win convincingly.

…..Adeleke, who has dedicated his victory to his late elder brother, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, also revealed that loyalists and supporters of Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola supported him during the election.

‘These were the people that colluded that time. They were together. Kolapo Alimi (Aregbesola’s ex-associate) told me the truth. They robbed me. Even the president said it when he came here; that they won the (2018) election through remote control.

,,,,,”They fell out, and that was to my own advantage. It has paved the way for me to earn victory’ he said.
