Gunmen Abducts Nine People In Kwara
It seems kidnapers are multiply day-by-day in Nigeria as another nine people were reportedly kidnapped in two different incident in Kwara state over the weekend.
According to the report, the first incident occurred along Oke Onigbin – Ọmú Aràn high way, where all seven occupants of a Sienna Siena bus in transit from Ekiti state and coming to Ilorin was ambushed by armed men and taken in to the bush, while other incident involving two people an un named pastor and his wife occurred between Ọmú Aràn and Ekan Méje axis of the state.
……Confirming the incidents the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State police command SP Ajayi Okasanami, in a statement made available, said the command received reports of the two incidents simultaneously.
Okasanmi said the command promptly dispatched its tactical units comprising the Anti kidnapping and Anti cultists units, joined by local hunters and vigilantes, chased the abductors into the bushes, and rescuing four out of the nine abducted persons in the two separate incidents, revealing that some suspects have been arrested and are helping the command in its investigation adding that efforts are in top gear to get the remaining victims rescued and un hurt.
The State Police advised residents of the state to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation and attack, adding that patrols of all the routes in the state has been intensified and any suspected activities within our immediate environments should be reported to the police immediately.
