GTBank Shuts Down Offices, Customers Stranded In Osun
The management of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), has shut down its offices in Osun State.
Reports revealed that this happened amid an online internet banking service disruption.
The Bank headquarters at Ogooluwa area in Osogbo, the Osun State capital remains closed during business hours on Monday, 13th October, 2024.
It should be recalled that last week, the bank announced an earlier closure of its branches on Friday, October 11, 2024, and scheduled to reopen on Monday, October 14, 2024.
However, it was a surprised to many customers in Osun State when the Banks failed to open on Monday.
According to the statement titled: “Notice of Early Branch Closure Nationwide”, customers are urged to use secure and convenient digital channels during the time of closure for all their banking needs.
“Please be informed that all GTCO branches will close early on Friday, 11th October 2024. We encourage you to use our secure and convenient digital channels during this time for all your banking needs.
“Important Update: Our digital channels will be temporarily unavailable for 11 hours, from 10:00 PM on Sunday, 13th October to 9:00 AM on Monday, 14th October 2024, as part of a scheduled transition process.”
However, the Management released a statement in the early hours of Monday (today), stating that the transition to a new and robust suite of financial core banking application systems has taken a little longer than planned, while all banking channels, including branches, will now reopen at 12:00 noon Monday (today).
As the time of filing this report, online banking is inaccessible while the bank is yet to reopen.
