Gov Okpebholo announces key appointments

Hours after his inauguration, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced some key appointments, few hours after his inauguration.

According to a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Fred Itua on Tuesday evening, Musa Ikhilor has been appointed the Secretary to the State Government, while Samson Osagie appointed as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole is the new Commissioner for Health.

,,,,These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly, which is expected to review them soon.

Ikhilor, born in Benin City in 1980, has extensive experience in law and legislative governance.

He holds an LL.B and a Masters in Telecommunications Law from Ahmadu Bello University and has worked at the National Assembly, including as a Consultant for the review of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution.

Samson Osagie, a seasoned lawyer and politician, will serve as the new Attorney General.

Osagie, who hails from Uhunmwode Local Government Area, has a rich background in legal practice, holding multiple degrees in law, public administration, and international relations.

,,,,,He has previously served in the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, where he was the Minority Whip.

,______Dr. Oshiomhole, the new Commissioner for Health, brings significant academic and professional credentials, including a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Ahmadu Bello University, a Master’s in Public Health from Tulane University, and postgraduate training at prestigious institutions like Harvard University.


He is expected to use his expertise to enhance the state’s health sector.
