“Gov Adeleke deserves applauds for transforming Osogbo to a befitting state capital” – Olawale Rasheed
_…Invites SRJ, Omo-Oloore, Other Osogbo political gladiators in opposition to join the working govt_
Prominent Osogbo political gladiators in the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) have been advised to join and support the government of governor Ademola Adeleke in the ongoing transformation of Osogbo into a befitting capital city of Osun State.
The appeal was made by the Spokesperson to Osun state governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed while featuring on a Media Parley organized by Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), on Saturday in Osogbo.
While responding to questions filed by members of the fourth estate of the realm, Olawale called on the National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Senator Ajibola Bashiru SRJ, and the Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr Olalekan Badmus among other Osogbo politicians federal appointees to join Osun PDP and Adeleke government in appreciation of the ongoing massive development in Osogbo, noting that Adeleke is turning Osogbo into a small London within two years.
Adeleke’s Spokesperson who elaborately explained the reasons behind the achievement recorded in two years in office, said the record has surpassed expectations of his critics.
“Governor Adeleke, within two years changes the fortune of Osogbo, the capital city to small London, the true sons and daughters of the land, like Ajibola Basiru SRJ, Engr Olalekan Badmus among others should join us and rally round the governor to continue his good works,” Olawale said.
He highlighted the major projects in Osogbo, “Lamenco flyover, Oke-fia flyover, Ikirun-Osogbo road, Alekuwodo road, Old garage roads dualization, among other visible projects.
He also revealed how Governor Ademola Adeleke simplified the delivery of good governance to citizens of the state, stressing that even though Governor Adeleke loves dancing he is highly committed to good governance more than anything else.
While responding to a question on if Governor Adeleke is bothered with constant criticisms from the main opposition party and the lessons learnt so far from the opposition criticism, Rasheed said their criticisms are expected. He added that the outcome of Edo and Ondo States guber elections were based on the domestic-political factors in the state, concluding that the political atmosphere of Osun is far different from Edo and Ondo.
According to Rasheed “We have taken power from them and out performed them, we have shown them that governance is not difficult, it’s just a matter of listening to the people and looking for what the people want, this is what Governor Adeleke has been doing.
“If we have outperformed them, we have simplified governance and become champions of good governance, Osun political factor, performance of this administration will determine the next election in 2026. Governor Adeleke’s eight years mandate will be given by the people of Osun”, he added.
Speaking on how Governor Adeleke achieved tremendous success in infrastructure across the state in the face of high economy and high market values, Rasheed said the governor applied the approach of “take forward” of materials used for constructions in the state upfront.
This, according to Rasheed, saved the state from spending more funds to purchase construction materials at an exorbitant rate at present.
