Fresh update on Tinubu’s minister who was reportedly poisoned emerges
An update on Tinubu’s minister who was reportedly poisoned in Abuja has emerged as the ministry of Tourism have denied claims that minister Lola Ade-John was poisoned, saying Lola Ade-John had malaria and has been treated.
The Ministry of Tourism has refuted recent reports making the rounds that the Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, was poisoned and hospitalized.
According to Peoples Gazette, Minister Ade-John was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi after exhibiting symptoms that were initially thought to be poisoning-related.
However, family sources have disclosed that she has been receiving treatment at the facility for four days now, and her condition had improved as of Friday morning.
The exact substance involved in the incident remains unknown, as sources indicated that she required a breathing assistance machine.
Controversy has also emerged regarding where the Minister should receive medical care.
Allegedly, the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Ngozi Onwudike, insisted that she should remain at the public hospital (FMC) due to cost-effectiveness for the government.
On the other hand, the Minister’s family expressed reservations about this decision but remained with her, unable to secure funds for a private hospital transfer.
In response to the reports, Emem Mariam Ofiong, Assistant Director of Press in the Ministry, clarified the situation to Vanguard.
She emphatically debunked the poisoning claims and confirmed that Minister Lola Ade-John had been diagnosed with malaria.
According to Ofiong, the Minister has received treatment for malaria and is now in a stable condition.
Her words, “It is not true that the Minister was poisoned, she only had malaria and had been treated and is now stable.
