Fresh FM Osogbo wins Osun Radio of the year award

The general public have voted for Fresh 10.49FM, Osogbo in the Radio category of the Osun Digital Media Award as Osun Best Radio of the year 2024.

The award which further cemented the media organization as a radio of the people, was organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) as part of the activities marking this year Osun Digital Media Week.

Fresh FM Osogbo emerged winner through a transparent public voting that was conducted online, as it beats four other radio stations nominated for the Award to emerge as the Osun Best Radio Station of the year 2024.

The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Tegbosun lll presented the Award of Excellence to the General Manager of the radio station, Dr. Akinkunmi Alabi during a Public Lecture and Award Presentation on Thursday in Osogbo.

The public lecture organized by OOPA is titled ”The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Digital Media in the 21st Century,” and it provided valuable insights into how AI is transforming the digital media landscape, equipping members with knowledge and tools to navigate these changes effectively.

While speaking on the process that gave birth to the emergence of Fresh FM as the winner, Chairman of OOPA, Mukhtar Ajelogbon explained that Fresh FM was nominated because of its positive impacts in the society.

According to Ajelogbon, “five Osun based radio stations were nominated in the radio category, out of which Fresh FM emerged as the winner with over 50% votes”.

Earlier in his acceptance speech, the General Manager of Fresh FM, Osogbo, Dr. Akinkunmi Alabi described the Award as an indication that listeners in Osun State and beyond appreciates how the media organization has redefined Broadcasting since its Inception about three years ago.

He further assured listeners that the Award will spur Fresh FM to double its efforts in dishing out more informative, educative and entertaining contents for them to get the standard contents they desire.


He, however, charged the Association to make professionalism their watchword at all times.
