The news reaching us says, Senator Ademola Adeleke who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun, has been dragged to a Federal High Court in Osogbo, the state capital by a member of his party PDP, Ajayi Shuaib.

According to the news, Shuaib asked the court to ascertain the authenticity of the certificate presented by Adeleke to INEC in the last Governorship election.

The suit with number FHC/OS/CS/16/2019, mentions PDP and INEC as second and third respondents.

Seyi Oyagbile told the court as the persecuting counsel that section 182(1)(J) of the constitution, “specifically states that (a) provided that a Candidate must present a certificate to INEC.”

The counsel went on to say that if the court proves that the Adeleke’s documents are fake, then he should not have been adjudged as a lawful candidate of the PDP in the first place.

OSUN REPORTERS gathered that Adeleke insisted at the appellate court that the certificate attached to his nomination form was lawfully issued to him.
