Flood ravages communities in Kwara, washes away bridges
Flood on Friday night, ravaged two communities in…….Kwara South Senatorial District following a heavy downpour.
The bridge at Odo-Ase in Oke-Ero Local Government linking other parts of the state was washed away by the flood.
,,,,,,,Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, appointed a delegation led by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi to visit the Odo-Ase community in Oke Ero Local Government Area over the Friday night rain.
The delegation was,,,,,also at the Orisa Bridge to assess the washed-away spot of the embankment, amid the ongoing construction of a new bridge.
,,,,,,On the entourage of the Deputy Governor were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, Ishaq Olorukooba and other officials from the ministry.
The delegation….,visited the communities on Saturday to commiserate with the people and assess the requirements for reconstruction.
,,,,,,“The Governor sends his commiserations to the people of the communities, said a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.
“He reassures that immediate steps will be taken to reconstruct the bridge as….soon as possible to reconnect the people to their neighbouring communities.”
