Final Year LAUTECH Students Burnt To Death In Osun Fatal Road Accident
Tragedy struck as some 500-level Accounting students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo state perished in an accident on Wednesday evening in Osun state.
The students were returning from an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall in Osun State when their vehicle suddenly caught fire around Ilobu-Okinni-Osogbo road in Osun.
Confirming the tragic incident, the school Public Relations Officer, Lekan Fadeyi, told newsmen that lives were lost in the accident but could not verify the numbers as he is yet to receive more information on the incident.
He said, “I can confirm to you that there was an accident while some students passed on, but I have not gotten the details of their identities.”
Also, the Students’ Union President of the institution, Anuoluwa Adeboye, while speaking on the incident, said the students organised an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall after their first-semester examinations as part of their activities as final-year students.
