#Endbadgovernance protest begins (see photos)
The long awaited protest against economic hardship, hunger and bad governance in Nigeria has begun in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Lagos, OSUN, Kano, Oyo and Gombe States.
Nigeria is currently facing one of the worst inflation and economic crises due to the government’s removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of foreign exchange rates.
Food and basic commodities prices have skyrocketed recently.
Nigerians and other civil society groups have decided to hit the streets to air their grievances and make their voices heard.
Viral photos on social media showed hundreds of young people gathered at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja, Freedom Park in Osogbo and Ojota, Ketu Lagos singing and calling for change.
The demonstrators carried placards with various messages.
