Cute Abiola faces fresh one-month punishment
Online comedian and naval officer Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola, is currently serving a month’s “extra duty” for wearing a police uniform in one of his skits, ridiculing the police Nigerian in the process.
The 25-year-old was arrested on November 15, 2021, but was released from detention to serve his “light corrective sentence” in the cantonment.
However, he is expected to end his sentence by December 15, 2021, when he would be allowed to return home to his family.
Navy spokesman Commodore Suleman Dahun, who confirmed this, said Ahmad was given a light sentence of an “extra month of service” after a military trial.
Dahun said, “Cute Abiola was placed on extra duty a month after being tried. He will be in charge of cleaning; supervise painting, electricians, carpentry, grass mowing and the like. He will supervise the civilians.
He is no longer in detention. He was released to travel to serve his sentence.
“Because he was detained on November 15, that month will start counting from that time, which means he will be engaged until December 15. By then, he will have no more. additional service, “he added.
