Cultists kill one in Ilorin over 7/7 anniversary

One person, identified as Abdullahi, was killed in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, in a cult clash in preparatory for the yearly 7th day of the 7th month anniversary of the confraternities.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday at Ile-Kewu, Oke-Apomu quarters of Ilorin metropolis on at about 9:pm, had reportedly targeted the elder brother of the deceased, Ibrahim, but met Abdullahi, the younger brother and shot him dead, which led to confusion in the area as a result of the bloody attack by the cultists invasion.

The deceased was reportedly buried on Thursday morning at the Muslim cemetery in Ilorin off Asa Dam road.

When contacted, spokesman of the state police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said “the command has no report of the incident.

“The DPO of ‘C’ Division that covers the area reported no such incident in the area please,” he added.
