Court of Appeal frees founder of Sotitobire church
The Akure Court of Appeal, capital of Ondo State, overturned the judgment of the High Court of Ondo State which convicted the founder of the Sotitobire Chapel of Worship.
A high court in Ondo State had sentenced the Prophet to life imprisonment for the disappearance of a one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole, from his church in 2019.
The founder of Sotitobire had asked the court of appeal to overturn his life sentence by the court.
The court ruled, however, that the circumstantial evidence on which the high court based its judgment was insufficient to convict him.
He was therefore released and acquitted.
