Court cancels APC LG Congress, Sacks Party Chairman

After an High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State sacked Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni as acting national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the congress billed for Saturday has been cancelled.

….Pending the determination of a substantive suit before the court, other members of the Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC were also fired by the court.

……Also the APC Local Government Congress scheduled to hold on September 4, 2021 was cancelled by Justice Onome Marshal Umukoro, who presided over the matter.

.Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in August urged the court to sack Mai Mala Buni for taking up another executive position as the caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging that combining the governor’s office with another executive position is a constitutional violation.
