Council Caretaker Chairman dies (Photo)
,,,,The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, has expressed profound sadness over the death of Alhaji Aliyu Usman Haruna, the caretaker chairman of Gombe Local Government Council.
Alhaji Haruna, aged 58, reportedly passed away on Tuesday in an Egyptian hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Yahaya conveyed his condolences in a statement signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, stating that the details regarding the funeral prayer would be communicated at a later time.
Describing the death of Alhaji Haruna as a monumental loss, not only to his family but to the entire state and Nigeria, the governor expressed deep sorrow.
,,,,,,The governor said the deceased was a confidant, honest, and loyal associate, making the loss profoundly personal for him.
In his tribute, Governor Yahaya highlighted Alhaji Haruna’s humility, humanity, and remarkable leadership qualities.
The governor extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Gombe Local Government, and the entire state.
“Alhaji Aliyu Haruna’s leadership qualities and his commitment to the welfare of his people were evident throughout his services as elected and Caretaker Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council, as well as in many other positions he held.
“As we mourn this huge loss, we pray to Almighty Allah to forgive….his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus,” the statement reads in part.
, ,,,Alhaji Aliyu Haruna, popularly known as Ali Ashaka, was born on June 2, 1965, and is survived by two wives and sixteen children.
