CHILDREN’S DAY: Giwa rejoices with children, describes them as bedrock for better tomorrow

The State of Osun Honourable Commissioner For Human Resources and Capacity Building, Hajia Latifat Abiodun Giwa has described children’s day celebration as special day to recognise, honour, celebrate and appreciate children on every 27th of May in Nigeria.

In a release made available to OSUNREPORTERS NEWS by Mr Muhammed Monsur Owoade on Wednesday, where Hajia Giwa rejoices with Nigerian Children, explained why parents should rise to the challenges facing our children, and applauded Governor Oyetola for his efforts in supporting Children across Osun.

According to the message, “The idea of dedicating a day for children’s in Nigeria started in 1964 through the endorsement of the United Nations Children efforts.

“Let’s all rise to the challenges facing children/youths in our State, Communities and the family. It’s our collective responsibility to train children to become a better person. We can achieve this through coaching, mentoring and most importantly, putting up good characters that can be emulated and worthwhile.”

Giwa also applauded the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his exemplary leadership in putting up measures to curb the spread of Corona Virus and the distributions of relief materials across the State.

In her way to support the growth and fulfilling the action plans of Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration, the Osun Human Resources and Capacity Building Commissioner has been the sponsor of free yearly UTME classes organised by Federation of Edeland Students Union (FELSU NATIONAL BODY) over the years, while most of these students are doing well in their various institutions of learning.

Recently, 83 students benefited from this year 2020 free UTME classes where Qomarudeen Abdulwasiu Alabi who came first in the PRE-UTME examination in preparation towards the main examination interestingly scored total aggregate of 322 in his JAMB result, while the beneficiary from Onimalu compound in EdeNorthLocal Government, appreciated the efforts of Hajia Giwa on behalf of his colleagues for given them the opportunities and refunding their JAMB fees.

Hajia Giwa enjoined parents to always pay attention to their spiritual, physical, emotional, educational, social well-being and sincerely evaluate parent child relationships especially girl child who centred the theme of this year children’s day celebration.


She eulogies the great efforts of our parent and the outstanding performances of our girls in all our institutions.
