BREAKING: Osun Traditional Rulers Suspend Oluwo For Six Months

The Paramount Fuller of Oluwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, was on Friday suspended for six months by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The suspension was announced at the emergency meeting of Osun State Council of Obas held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, arrived at the decision to suspend Oba Akanbi.

A committee was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land. The committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun.

Briefing journalists at the end of the meeting which lasted for about three hours, the Orangun of Ila Orangun, Oba Wahab Adedotun said: “Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has been suspended for six months.”


As at the time of filling this report, Oluwo is yet to make his position known over the suspension.
