Timothy Adegoke, MBA student at Obafemii Awololowo University (OUA), Ile Ife, who went missing on November 7, has died.

According to a statement signed and made available to reporters by Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin, spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, police said they were working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of ‘Adegoke.

“The Police Commissioner, CP Olawale Olokode, psc, would like to assure the general public, in particular the family of the deceased, the students and the management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OUA), Ile-Ife, that the command of the police are working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Timothy Adegoke, an OAU master’s student who came from Abuja to take his exam at the OAU distance learning center, Moro, in the ‘Osun State,’ the statement read.

“It is recalled that a missing person case was reported on November 7, 2021 around 4:30 p.m. at the Edun Abon police station, then transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation. discreet on November 9, 2021.

As soon as the case was received, the commander’s SCID detectives took action and arrested six (6) suspects in connection with the case while the investigation was ongoing.

Therefore, the police commissioner uses this medium to call on family, supporters, students and university management to remain calm and be assured that the police will do everything within their constitutional responsibility to unravel the mystery. of his death. . ”

Police did not say how he died or where his body was found, however.


Adegoke, was an Abuja-based student who traveled to Ife on November 5 to take an exam at the school’s distance learning center in Moro, Osun state.
He was reported missing two days later when friends and family were unable to reach his phone line or find him at the examination location.
