BREAKING: Fresh Crisis In Osogbo South LCDA As Parliamentarians Pass Vote Of No Confidence On Council Chairman
Despite the order from Osun State House of Assembly on Monday 6th January, 2020 that the both Chairman and members of the Osogbo South Local Council Development Area should resume at their offices after the alleged impeachment brouhaha, four of five members of the council parliamentarians have issued another resolution passing a vote of no confidence on their Chairman, Hon Abdulhakeem Olaoye.
Recall that the Speaker of the State Assembly had earlier held that the local government parliamentarians failed to follow the laid down procedure as contained in section 19(a,b,c & d) of the Osun State Local Government Areas (Creation & Administration) Law, 2015 for the removal of the Chairman.
The council parliamentarians on their first sitting on Tuesday after the crisis passed a vote of no confidence on the council boss for gross misconduct in the affairs of the local government.
As stated in their resolution signed by Hon Badmus Akeem Olaiya (Council Leader); Hon Bolanle Jimoh Ademuyiwa (Deputy Leader); Hon Olawale Waheed Olayemi (Vice Chairman) and Hon Yinusa Muhideen Ademola (Council Member) and submitted to the Osun State House of Assembly, the council Chairman failed to present the year 2020 appropriation bill of the council for deliberation, failure to render the quarterly income and expenditure of the council for two consecutive quarters in the year 2019, failure to properly constitute the executive arm of the council among others.
According to them, the council will no longer recognize Hon Olaoye as Chairman until the State Assembly look into the allegations for ratification.
As at the time of filling this report, Hon Abdulhakeem Olaoye has not responded to our correspondent’s phone calls and text message for his own side of the story.
