Desmond Nwachuku Emerges FIBAN President For Second Term

The incumbent President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Comrade Desmond Nwachuku has won his reelection.

The election was held on Sunday, 19th January, 2020 in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital where ten (10) delegates per state across Nigeria gathered to choose the new leadership of the association.

The Enugu born young Nigerian and Ogun State based broadcaster, Desmond Nwachuku declared winner and returned elected by the FIBANEC Chairman, Alh Gbenga Adebayo-Oladunni with 67 votes against his co-contestant, Basiru Adisa ‘Baba-gbohin’ who scored 33 votes.

Some elected officers includes; Muyiwa Akinrelere scored 60 votes to defeat Bisi Ajiboye who scored 19 to emerge Vice President 1; Helken Njokwu pulled 75 votes to emerge Vice President 2 against Adeola Balogun of 22 votes; Taiwo Adebayo Gold emerges General Secretary by 65 votes against Olaoye who pulled 33 votes; Teila Grace won with 70 to defeat Opeyemi who scored 22 votes to emerge Publicity Secretary 1, while Sunday Alakinde also emerged the Organizing Secretary of the association.
