BREAKING: Another Nigerian lawmaker shot dead
The Local Government Councilor representing Ward 5 in the Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, the Hon. Jude Adjekpogu, who was shot dead by suspected Fulani shepherds a few days ago, has died.
According to the report, the adviser died in the early hours of Thursday in Warri where he was treated at an undisclosed private hospital.
It will be recalled that the advisor in office was shot dead on Saturday, December 4, 2021, along the Eku-Abraka road, by suspected shepherds while returning from a function.
Since being bedridden, he has been fighting for his life following injuries sustained in the attack.
It was established that the so-called shepherd kidnappers blocked the Eku-Abraka road around 5.30 p.m. that fateful day and fired several shots into the adviser’s car, the bullets of which hit his abdomen.
Therefore, locals called on the Local Government Council and the Delta State Government to urgently address recurring incidents of attacks by suspected kidnappers along the Eku-Abraka axis. .
In recent times, the Abraka-Eku road has become a nightmare for travelers, as kidnappers and armed robbers attack travelers on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the President of the Local Government, the Hon. Victor Ofobrukueta assured that the cartel behind the upsurge in criminal activity in the region is closely watched and will soon be brought to justice.
