Army speaks on news of overtraining Buhari’s govt
A publication attributed to Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General ONYEMA NWACHUKWU, about Defence Headquarters warning soldiers against overthrowing President BUHARI’s regime has been disowned.
NWACHUKWU, in a statement yesterday, said the online publication, which was full of lies and fabrications, claimed that the Defence Headquarters has denounced a call for the military to take over power, has been described as falsehood by the Army Spokesman.
According to him, officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army did not need to be warned against overthrowing BUHARI’s government, adding that their loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces had never been in doubt.
