News reaching the OsunReporters News confirmed that the Appeal Court has annulled the appointment of Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

_______This ruling upholds an earlier judgment from the National Industrial Court, which recognized Tajudeen Baruwa as the legitimate leader of the union.

It should be recalled that the Southwest Zone of the NURTW elected MC Oluomo during the Quadrennial Delegate Conference in Osogbo, Osun State last week.

_____Following the election, he took office at the union’s headquarters in Abuja.

However, court documents released on Friday reveal that the appellate court’s panel of three judges rejected the appeal filed by MC Oluomo’s faction.

The judgment solidifies Baruwa’s position as the NURTW president, countering recent moves to replace him.

______The judgement reads, “This is an appeal against the judgment/decision of the National Industrial Court Sitting in Abuja, in Suit No. NICN/ABJ/263/2023 delivered on the 11th March, 2024 by Justice O. O. Oyewumi.
