Another 163 Nigerians Repatriate From Libya

Another set of 163 Nigerian migrants have been reportedly repatriated by the Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya’s Southern Region.

According to reports, the repatriated migrants comprising women and children were rescued in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and flown out from Sabha International Airport.

The Migrant Rescue Watch, announced the development via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to manage and mitigate illegal migration in the region.

According to statement of the IOM; “DCIM (Southern Region) repatriated with IOM support 163 #migrants incl. women and children of Nigerian nationality via Sabha International Airport.”

Recall that the IOM has been actively working with Libyan authorities to facilitate the safe return of migrants, who often face harsh conditions in detention centres.
