Alternative High School For Girls is a flagship project of the Renewed Hope Initiative – Remi Tinubu

Nigerian Firstlady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the Osun State Government for its commitment to education and empowerment of girls and women.

She made this known during the commissioning of Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo the Osun State Capital on Friday.

Wife of the President described the Alternative High School for Girls as a flagship project of the Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at providing quality education to young girls, especially those who have dropped out of formal education.

The Alternative High School for Girls is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a crèche, skills acquisition center, and modern classrooms. The school is designed to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes literacy and numeracy skills, life skills training, and vocational education.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and other government officials.

The event marked a significant milestone in the efforts to promote girls’ education and empowerment in Osun State.

The Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo is expected to provide education and empowerment opportunities to hundreds of disadvantaged girls in Osun State, and serve as a model for similar initiatives across the country.

Earlier, the Osun State First Lady, Chief Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, had welcomed the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Osun State for the commissioning of the Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo.

In her speech, Mrs. Adeleke commended Senator Tinubu for her passion for public service and girl child education. She assured that the Osun State Government, under the leadership of her husband, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is committed to supporting initiatives that promote education and empowerment of girls and women.

“I am most delighted to welcome Your Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Osun State for the commissioning of this Alternative High School for Girls,” Mrs. Adeleke said. “Today’s event reaffirms Your Excellency’s dedication to expanding access to quality education, a key tool in fighting poverty and building a safer future for our children, especially the young girls and women in Osun State.”


Mrs. Adeleke assured that the Osun State Government has recruited qualified teachers and personnel to ensure the successful launch of the school. She commended Senator Tinubu for her commitment to providing quality education for young girls and women in Osun State.
