Aiyedatiwa declares curfew in Ondo

follows violent cult clashes that led to multiple deaths and disrupted peace in the area, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Owo, Ondo State, Dockaysworld reports.

According to reports, the unrest included the killing of Fisayo Oladipo, a prominent APC youth leader and two others.

Reports further revealed that Oladipo, known as “Fissy,” was shot by suspected cult members outside his home in the Ehin-Ogbe area early Monday morning after being trailed from a nightclub. The attack also left two unidentified young men dead, with their bodies discovered on the roadside.

Security agencies have attributed the violence to clashes between rival cult groups.

The Governor has directed law enforcement to restore peace, protect lives, and arrest those responsible for the attacks.

Investigations into the killings are ongoing.


At the time of filing this report, heavy security presence has since calmed the tension, but the curfew requires residents to stay indoors at night, except for essential workers like doctors and emergency responders.
