AFCON 2025: Super Eagles’ Place Confirmed

After a drab 1-1 draw with Benin Republic in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Abidjan on Thursday night, the Super Eagles’ place at the tournament has been confirmed.

____Benin took the lead early in the first half through Mohamed Tijani, in what was a goalkeeping error from Stanley Nwabali.

But Victor Osimhen headed the three-time African champions level late in the second half.

Nigeria have 11 points, four more than Benin Republic.
