ACTIVE WOMAN: Details of Temilade Olokungboye’s political antecedents on her birthday (must read)

Her participation in active politics began during the regime of the former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande between 1999 and 2003.

On her political pursuit, Temilade rose to the position of Osun State Women Leader of the then Action Congress (AC) who worked as the number one woman within the progressive cycle, when Ogbeni Aregbeaola and the Action Congress party were slogging it out with the ruling party (PDP) before, durning and after the 2007 guber election in Osun until the year 2010 when wind of Change blown and Aregbesola became the governor of Osun State through the Supreme Court judgement in 2010.

TSO properly called by her admirers, served at the Ministry of Information and Strategy as member of the Directorate and Social Mobilization, she also worked with Governor Rauf Aregbesola during his first tenure as Special Assistant on Woman Affairs.

“When your records are clean, your journey would be smooth.” To call her full name, Alhaja Temilade Khalid Olokungboye has never relent in her struggle and loyalty for the smooth running of the progressive party within Osogbo, Osun State and Nigeria at large. She was nominated as the Executive Secretary of the five-man Caretaker Committee of Osogbo West Local Council Development Area in the year 2017 by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

While serving as Executive Secretary of Osogbo West LCDA, she became the Secretary of the Osun State Chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON).

After the creation of new LCDAs, and introduction of parliamentary System of government across the local governments in Osun, Temilade contested and won election as a parliamentarian to represent the people of ward 4 in Osogbo West Council Development Areal in 2018 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In her magnanimous gesture, TSO has always being an advocate of gender equality and lover of children especially girl child even before she become political office holder. She frequently donates drugs, and baby-care facilities to the pregnant and nursing mothers across health centers up till this moment.

Politically, she is being loved by many people, while those who before now were not into active politics are currently propagating her political elevation through different platform with the APC such as Team TSO, Progressive Minded People, O’BAG among others.

Temilade has dedicated her life to woman development by empowering women through different vocational trainings, skill acquisition and provision of working tools for the participants after training. She has sponsored more than twenty (20) students in passing WAEC/NECO extermination and still counting…

Hon. Temilade Khalid Olokungboye emerged the Executive Chairman of the Osogbo Local Government Parliament since February 13th, 2018 till date. Her administration has executed many projects, such as furnishing the newly built Osogbo West LCDA Secretariat, sinking of borehole across the 5 wards in Osogbo West, building of event hall, Equipment of Primary Health Centres with drugs, welfare and training of the local government staffs and many more.

Her political mentors remain Chief Bisi Akande, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Ogbeni Aregbesola, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola and Prince Gboyega Famodun.

She has won many awards in recognition of her humanitarian services. Temilade is a responsible house wife and loving mother.
