The heads of families in Ibadanland, the Oyo state capital, popularly called Authentic Mogajis on Wednesday said some selected leaders in the southwestern region have invited ancestors to strike the betrayers of the Yoruba nation.

Chief Wale Oladoja who is the spokesperson of the group spoke with newsmen on behalf of his colleagues in Ibadan, wondered why some leaders and governors absconded the launching of the security network, last week Wednesday.

According to him, the presidency should know that Amotekun has come to stay “because an already born baby cannot be aborted again.”

He said, if the Hisbah security outfit in the northwest region of the country was never a threat, Amotekun which is the voice of the people in southwestern states can never be a threat.

“It is ridiculous to hear that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami said that security should be on Exclusive List. Is provision of power and water not on exclusive list?

“We have consulted our ancestors to strike the betrayers of Yoruba nation. We are still wondering why some Yoruba leaders, including governors absconded the launching of the Security network,” he said.

Oladoja urged a former governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun whom he described as a close associate of President Buhari to advise him on the need for Operation Amotekun in the region.

The Mogajis further appealed to the governors and leaders in the region never to allow intimidation from the federal government to stall the implementation of the security network.
