The area were flooded as a result of the recent downfall on Friday 30th of August, 2019 when floods waters started sipping into residential apartments which caused people living close to the bank of the Osun River to start evacuating their personal belongings out of their houses at midnight.

One of the residents of the affected area, Olawale Jonson stated that, they never knew Osun River could overflow to that extent, despite most of the house owners had taken time to build their houses at safer areas in distance to Osun river.
