REPORT: The Uncommon Representation Of Apapa Iganmu LCDA Legislative Leader, Mujidat Lanihun

The people of Ward-B in Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Lagos State has described the Leader of the 4th Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Mujidat Funmilayo Lanihun as a classic leader, hardworking, symbol of humility, and a good representative of the people of Ward-B.

In their conventional statements on different social media platforms, some members of the constituency lauded the achievement of Hon. Mujidat Lanihun as the Councillor representing Ward-B in the 4th local government legislature.

OSUN REPORTERS gathered some of the impactful programmes executed as part of the achievement recorded by the Apapa Iganmu LCDA Legislative Leader, such as; different empowerment programmes, community social interventions where members of her constituency benefited immensely.

– In her efforts to give back to the people, she organized free eye care for the people of Ward-B who are surfing from one eye problem or the other which includes; health talk, free eye screening/treatment, free eye glasses, blood sugar screening, blood pressure test and free medications.
– Provision of motorized free borehole for Ward-B community, stationed at Shobodu and the neighboring streets.
– Clearing and sanitizing the Sari Community (1st & 2nd edition) which includes; sensitisation on how to keep the community clean, clearing of drainages, waste disposal and fumigation exercise.
– Women/youth empowerment programme and many more.

Oversight function is one of the major duties of any legislative arm of government, Hon. Mujidat Lanihun has sponsored bills in the interest of her constituency and the Apapa Iganmu in general.

Part of the bills sponsored by her which has passed second reading, includes;
– Proposed bill to re-establish the grant of Annual Bursary Awards to student in higher institution of learning.
– Proposed bill on quarterly stipend for Aged living within Apapa.lganmu LCDA.
– A proposed bill to amend traffic, parking and control of traffic bye law 2004 and a new bill on indiscriminate parking of vehicles.

In another development, it was a moment full of excitements for the people of Sari Community in Ward-B, Apapa Iganmu LCDA of Lagos State when she organized the second edition of her “Clean Up Initiative”

The clean up initiative tagged ‘OPERATION CLEAN UP SARI COMMUNITY (Ward B)’ held on Saturday 29th June, 2019 commenced at 7am and rounded up about 2pm.

According to the report made available, the programme was initiated by Hon. Mujidat Lanihun, while Logos Waste Management Authority (Lawma), National Environmental Standard Regulatory and Enforcement Agency (NESREA), and Environmental Lagos were Co-partners, where sensitization on how to keep the community clean, clearing of drainages, waste disposal and fumigation exercise were carried out.

Operation Clean Up Sari Community covers sixteen (16) different areas within Sari community which includes: 1) Sari lganmu Road (2) moshalashi street (3) Akinola street (4) Amusu (5) Sari (6) zion (7) OLaitan (8) Adeleye (9) Ogunyemi (10) Shobodun (11) Olatokunbo (12) Afagbon (13) Adeolu (14) Orisha (15) Araromi (16) lkale.

The programme was witnessed by dignitaries in honour of the initiator. In attendance were; Lawman street Captain Team Apapa lganmu LCDA Chapter, Apapa lganmu LCDA Environmental Officers, CDAs, Members of the Apapa Iganmu Legislative Council, (Dflow, Lampard) Mjay foundation among others.

For the smooth running of the programme, the crew members supporting Hon. Mujidat Lanihun were also at the forefront of the exercise, which includes; Com Fraconeroo Felix, Mr ldris Soliu, Mrs ldowu Isale, Mrs Kehinde Rasheed, Mrs Nimota Sikiru2, Mrs Bolanle Ajayi, Miss Rukayat Adedeji, Faith Ayoola, Hammed Ayoola, John Nwosu, Adisa Yusuf, Shehu Ajala, Alao Muritala , Aro, Mrs Adeshina Tebishe, Tope Adedeji, Tope Sunday, Fatai Adebiyi, Fatai Folorunsho, Lateef, Bello, Atuma, Bolaji Jimoh, Tajudeen Ahmed, Justine, Dozie, Shoke, Mr Adex, Sulaimon Akeem, Gaint, Sherif, Afeez Ahmed, Sheu Jasper, Mr kayode, Dflow and Mr Lampard among others.

Members of the Sari Community trooped out in numbers to join the cleanup exercise where three different compactors were used to clear the bulk of waste.
