JUST IN: Osun Retirees Protest In Osogbo Over 15 Months Unpaid Pensions
The group of Pensioners in Osun State staged a peaceful protest on Tuesday in Osogbo, Osun state capital to demand from the state government the payment of 15 months arrears of pension owed them.
The protesters, who carried placards with inscriptions saying, “We demand our 30 months arrears” “Retirees are dying”, ” Give us our right,” and many more.
While addressing his retired colleagues, Chairman of Forum of 2011/2012 Pensioners, Mr. Yemi Lawal, declared that Osun’s retirees were the most traumatized in Nigeria.
The retirees in Osun State demanded for the arrest of the former Governor of the State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for mismanaged the resources of Osun and failed to pay them as at when due.
