Oyebamiji awards scholarship to Osun Student who came 3rd in Nigeria at UBEC 2024 games
The Asiwaju of Ikire land and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji has awarded scholarship to Oyediran Muminat Ajoke, a student of Anwarul Islam grammar school, Ikire who came third in the table tennis 2024 Basic Education Student Sports (BESS) competition organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission in conjunction with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) across Nigeria up to the university level.
The announcement was made on Friday during an award giving ceremony held at Ikire townhall, as part of activities marking Ikire Day 2024 ceremony.
Recall that OsunRwporters News had earlier reported that excellence performance of Muminat at the Southwest table tennis competition earlier this year qualifies her to the national tennis landmark achievement.

While commending Muminat’s sterling performance at the tournament, Oyebamiji urged other students to take a cue from her outstanding performance and also be a good ambassador of Ikire township.
In his submission, NIWA boss said that Muminat, a student of Anwarul Islam grammar school who also hailed from Sagba compound in Ikire outstanding performance has once again proven one can effectively combined sporting activities with education and excel in Nigeria. He also urged parents to be attentive to their children needs and give necessary support as they are the future of tomorrow.
To the delight of the teeming crowd at the event, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji announced free education scholarship for Oyediran Muminat Ajoke up to the university level.
In her reaction, an elated Mrs Oyediran, mother to Oyediran Muminat appreciated Asiwaju Oyebamiji for the kind gesture as it was unexpected. She prayed for continuos growth and well being of the Asiwaju of Ikire land.
