Obokun League of Imams & Alfas lauds MUPAF’s Constituency Tour initiative

The train of ongoing Osun Constituency Tour by the Muslim Political Awareness Front (MUPAF) landed at Obokun Local Government Area over the weekend to meet the League of Imams and Alfas in the zone.

During the group’s familiarization visit which took place at Ikiyinwa Central Mosque in Ikiyinwa community by the leadership of MUPAF, was applauded by the forum of Islamic leaders across the local government.

In his address, MUPAF National Coordinator, Alh Lukman Obembe reaffirmed the need for our Islamic leaders especially Imams to use their various platforms in reaching out to Muslims on the need to make use of our strength to seek for political power, noting that there would be balance in sharing of public asset if we elect an Islamic oriented Muslims into political offices.

He further revealed some efforts of MUPAF across Osun, the entire Southwest and Kwara States which include the formation of Political Da’wah Warriors to engage people at the grassroots across the local government areas of Osun state.

However, the League of Imams and Alfas in Obokun Local Government Chairman, Alh Muhammad Tijani Bello, thanked MUPAF for working towards politics in Islam. He prayed for Allah’s blessings to crown every effort of the group.

Imam Tijani who also acknowledged the impact of MUPAF, gave kudos to the leadership of the group for coming out at this time to champion such agenda that will be of benefit to all.

He, however, charged MUPAF not to relent in the propagation no matter the challenges, adding that the support of Islamic leaders at State and national levels are needed.

The constituency tour which started in October is aimed to familiarize and re-echo the aims and objectives of the Islamic cum politically inclined group to Muslim leaders on the need to use our strength across Osun to seek political power.

This, MUPAF believes will positively change the socio-economy situation if we have true Muslims at the various helms of governance.

Obokun Local Government led MUPAF Coordinator, Imam Ojiwusi AbdulRahim led others to welcome the state leadership to Ikiyinwa.
