Day-5: Hoodlums attack popular bank, cart away valuables during protest
Imformation reaching thw OsunReporters News has it that hoodlums once again hijacked the peaceful protests on Monday and proceeded to attack a Fidelity Bank branch at Tudun Wada in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While confirming the incident, the spokesman of the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, said that the hoodlums broke into the bank during which they carted away some valuables and also destroyed some vehicles parked within the bank premises.

,,,,The police also confirmed the burning down of a security patrol vehicle belonging to the Kaduna State Vigilance Service at Rigasa in the Igabi Local Government Area as wvell as the razing of the Zaria office of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) by hoodlums.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Security Council imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria Metropolitan Cities.
This is as a result of the violence that has rocked the peaceful protest since it began on August 1.
Although normalcy had been restored in some parts of Kaduna, thousands of youths are out on the streets, demanding an end to what they described as bad governance.
,,,,,In a statement on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, said the measure was taken in the interest of peace.
According to him; “The Kaduna State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, following a review of the security situation in the State, hereby notifies citizens of the following:
“There is sufficient evidence to clearly indicate that the ongoing protest has been hijacked by criminal elements….who have resorted to looting of shops and destruction of private and public property.
____“In view of this unfortunate development, the Kaduna State Security Council has unanimously resolved to impose a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria Metropolises and environs with immediate effect.
“Citizens are advised to remain indoors while security forces continue to work to maintain safety and security. Monitoring will be sustained for review of the curfew as required.”
