Suspect Killed In Alleged Fake EFCC Operation

,,,,,,,,,……____,Three individuals suspected to be part of a criminal group who allegedly masqueraded as EFCC officials were arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command.

The suspects were accused of robbing students from Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, and kidnapping Adudu Kingsley, an ND II student.

While confirming the development, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s spokesperson on Wednesday, noted that one member of the alleged four-person robbery and kidnapping gang was apprehended by an enraged mob and subjected to severe beating before police intervention.

However, despite efforts to save him, the suspect succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Primary Health Care, Laminga.

,,,,,……””””'””The remaining trio, identified as Hyelda Aliyu Ibrahim, Henry Patrick Okwu, and Shuaibu Abubakar, residents of Customs Quarters and Up Market area of Masaka, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State, were later arrested. The incident occurred on April 17, 2024, at Samakwe Lodge behind Government College, Nasarawa LGA.

……;;;;;___The police engaged in a pursuit, erecting roadblocks to intercept the suspects. However, the perpetrators managed to evade capture, abandoning their vehicle and the abducted student at Anguwan Madugu. Subsequent investigations led to the apprehension of the three additional suspects, along with the recovery of incriminating evidence, including fake EFCC ID cards and electronic devices such as iPhone 12 Pro Max, Huawei, and Tecno Spark 5.

…..&—-“_____The arrested suspects confessed to their involvement in various robberies targeting student areas in Keffi and Nasarawa LGA. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining fugitive. Victims have come forward to identify the suspects.


_____””””””!!!Commissioner of Police, CP Shehu Umar Nadada, has directed the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for further inquiries. Upon completion of the investigation, the suspects will face prosecution in court.
