PDP Chieftains, Adewoyin, Arogundade, others attend APC meeting in Ife North LG

The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State may use its big stick to deal with some erring members of the party who have been accused of engaging in anti-party activities in recent times.

According to reliable information from Ife zone of the party, the Zonal Financial Secretary of the party, Hon. Tunde Adewoyin popularly called Baale, from Ife East, former State Financial Secretary of the party, Alhaji Remi Arogundade from Ife South, another PDP stalwart of the party from Modakeke Area Office, Hon. Kamorudeen Salawu Ayodele and Princess Funmilayo Ayoola were in attendance with the founder of Àtúntò Group, Omooba Dotun Babayemi in Ipetumodu on Friday 29th March, 2024 to fine tune their arrangements for their upcoming defection to APC which has been scheduled to take place after the Ramadan festival.

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ife North who sighted Omooba Dotun Babayemi with some members of the party at two separate meetings at Moro and Opekete hotel in Ipetumodu raised alarm and informed the party leaders that some notable members of PDP were in attendance at the APC preparatory meeting in the local government.

An insider, who informed our source expressed disappointment at the Financial Secretary of PDP in the South West who was also allegedly seen last week with PDP stakeholders who went round the Ife Federal Constituency to stop all loyalists of the late Olasoji Adagunodo not to let anybody deceive them with what he cannot give them because the Adagunodo boys said they have been in the struggle for a while before Omooba Dotun joined them from the APC and that they knew there will not be anything profitable for them in the APC.

The Friday meeting of the Àtúntò Group however went sour because the expected population of 10 people per local government in Ife Central, Ife East, Area Office, Ife North and South which was supposed to produce 50 people could not produce anything more than 14 people for the entire Federal Constituency, this was as a result of the proactiveness of the new leadership of the group after the demise of the group leader Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo.

The people of Ife Federal Constituency are seriously angry especially with Hon. Tunde Adewoyin who is holding the position of the party’s Zonal Financial Secretary and is still moving around with members of the opposition party to convince the PDP members of Aanigba group to join the APC.

They have therefore insisted that the disciplinary committee of the party should wield its big stick of discipline and tell Adewoyin to resign his position as the Zonal Financial Secretary of the party with immediate effect because he cannot enjoy the benefit of a political party to finance members of the opposition.

A call has been put through to the National Vice Chairman of the party in the South West, Barrister Kamarudeen Ajisafe and the Osun State Chairman of the party, Hon. Sunday Bisi where Tunde Adewoyin hails from for appropriate sanction.
