Hardship: Kumuyi tells Church goers not to pay offering to church, advises them what to do
Amidst economic hardship in Nigeria, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Doctor William Folohunso Kumuyi, has implored Christians to stop giving out their offerings to the Church, instead give it to the poor, needies and unemployed in their communities
While given his remarks, Kumuyi made this submission in a video that has gone viral on social media where he was telling church congregation that Christians should stop donating and spend all their money on building churches but rather help the poor neighbours who can’t afford basic life needs, describing how a preacher had instructed his members to give monies meant for offering to the poor and unemployed people around them as a hearty and wise decision.
However, Kumuyi called the attention of congregationa members to a controversial OAP, Daddy Freeze who rebuked some Nigerian pastors over their ostentatious lifestyle while their members lived in abject poverty.
______It was reliably gathered that Freeze once said and quoted: “When I started going against tithe, there’s no Nigerian pastor that didn’t respond. I just came and read the bible to them: Deuteronomy chapter 14, if you read from verse 22, it said, ‘Eat your tithe by yourself’.
______According to Kumuyi, there’s nothing wrong in building church but while doing so, Christians must bear it in mind that their neighbours are dying of hunger.
Quoted Kumuyi: “Look at all this offering we’re collecting. This church has silver and gold.
